Afterschool Cornucopia is a different kind of afterschool program. Rather than just providing childcare, we offer a wide variety of classes taught by specialists right on the school campus. Our program meets at the El Marino, El Rincon, and Linwood Howe elementary schools in Culver City.

As a site staff member for Afterschool Cornucopia, you will assist our staff in the operation of our afterschool classes. While helping us supervise our students, you will have the opportunity to learn about childhood education and the operation of a small business.

A shift generally consists of: Collecting students at their classrooms and walking them to their respective Cornucopia classes, then supervising and providing assistance to our classes until they finish, at which point we return our students to their aftercare rooms or the school gate for pickup.

• Punctuality is a must. We operate on a tight schedule and tardiness can severely impact our operations.
• A positive attitude and good temper. Misbehaving children can be stressful. It’s important our staff keep their cool under pressure.
• A friendly and approachable demeanor. Shy or unhappy children sometimes need extra attention. It’s important our staff are able to make students feel comfortable communicating with us.

Shifts run from 3:00–4:30 on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays and 1:30–3:15 on Wednesdays. Shifts may occasionally go 10–15 minutes longer, depending upon circumstances.
